We have some tips to help you protect your floor and to keep it looking new.
Most important Tip is to ready the product care guide from the flooring manufacturer you have selected, this can be found on their website or simply by emailing us, we will organise the one for the product you have chosen in particular.
Cleaning the Floor
- Regular vacuuming, sweep or wiping the floor will remove dirt and dust particles. Regular cleaning will minimize wear from dirt and dust particles.
- Wipe the spillage as soon as possible with a damp mop or cloth
- Avoid using chemicals and waxed based chemicals as it will damage your floors.
Protecting the floor.
- Use Rugs or mats in high traffic areas to protect the floors for wear and tear.
- Place outdoor and indoor mats near doors to avoid bringing any sand that can cause scratches.
- Place protective pads under furniture’s. When moving furniture’s, avoid sliding or rolling heavy objects.
- Keep pets nail trimmed to prevent them scratching the surface of the wood.
- UV sunlight will soften the tone of different species of hardwood to varying degrees.
- Don’t wear shoes with stiletto heels on your timber floor. Remove shoes at the door to avoid potentially dragging in sharp objects in your shoe treads.
